The Inn is thought to be around 400 years old and is on the list of the top ten most haunted pubs in England.

The Red Lion Inn is located the center of the stone circle where a pagan festival is held every six weeks.

Reported Paranormal Activity

The Inn houses a ghost named Florrie who once lived at the inn with her husband. Florrie’s husband went away to fight in a war and was gone for many years. Thinking her husband was never going to return home, Florrie fell in love with another man. Without warning Florrie’s husband came home and caught her in the arms of her new lover. Without Letting her explain herself, Florrie’s husband shot her loved dead and then slit her throat.

Florrie’s body was then thrown down the well which is located in one of the rooms of the inn. Today the well has a glass top on it.

Florrie’s ghost has been leaving and returning to the well by many people visiting the inn.
